Holiday Greeting - Collect the Best Recipes for Dads’ Cook Book

June 13, 2019

Most dads have at least one recipe they like to cook for family and friends. Some have dozens. This year, celebrate Father’s Day by collecting the recipes from the men in your family.

Bring a notebook to your next family celebration and get the men in your family to write instructions – ingredients, preparation, cooking methods, and times – for their best recipes. Get the skinny on grandpa’s renowned soup or great grandpa’s delicious grilled chicken. Ask your brother for the recipe for his fabulous bread or tasty jerky. And, what about dad’s famous dessert?

Once you have a collection of handwritten recipes, scan them into your computer so you can put together a book that includes favorite recipes and memorable photos of the men in your family.

If you come from a household that loves to ham it up, pull up your phone app and video the men in your family describing their recipes or cooking their food. Get more ideas online about how to preserve your family’s recipes.1

Recipes are a unique piece of every family’s history. Make sure yours are recorded for the future.

You may want to spend some time thinking about the financial legacy you will leave for future generations. When you’re ready to discuss it, give us a call. We’ll be glad to help you figure out what you want your legacy to be.

Happy Father’s Day!
